Welcome, Pardner

Apache Junction is centrally located in Arizona, 35 miles east of Phoenix on US Highway 60, also known as the Superstition Freeway. It is approximately a 90 minute drive to just about anywhere in Arizona, and just a few hours away from Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles; and from Tijuana, Nogales, and Rocky Point, all in Mexico; and from Laughlin, Nevada and many other historic sights in and around Arizona.
How neat is that!? Apache Junction is also located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, one of the most unique and beautiful deserts in the world - home to the stately Saguaro* cactus. [*to the uninitiated, Saguaro is pronounced "sa-war-oh"]
In southern Arizona and the Apache Junction area, the warm sun shines more than 300 days of the year. The average rainfall is approximately 10-12 inches. The local wildlife includes: diamondback rattlesnakes, gila monsters, scorpions and tarantulas, as well as mountain lions, coyotes, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, moose; and the U.S. Government has recently introduced gray wolves back into their natural Arizona habitat. Local birders will find in abundance: Gambel's quail, roadrunners, hawks, hummingbirds and turkey vultures. The list goes on. We can add bobcats to that list, as we have one living on our property as a freeloader [he thinks we're the interlopers!]
